IN court today is Kevin John Morrison, aged 58, from Poole, near Nantwich, on charges relating to the murder of Wirral pensioner Alice Rye.
Morrison made an appearance before Wirral magistrates last week, to be remanded in custody for seven days, until this morning.
His solicitor, Jeremy Rawson, did not apply for bail but said an application would be considered after results of forensic tests were received.
Morrison is charged with disposing of a watch and jewellery belonging to 74-year-old Mrs Alice Rye, found stabbed to death at her Spital home in December. He is also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by disposing of the knife believed to be the murder weapon.
Morrison also faces magistrates for further unrelated matters.
