ALL CREATURES Great and Small are blessed at St Bridget's Church, West Kirby, all in aid of helping veterinary charity - the Animal Health Trust.
There was an unusual site at the church when instead of parishioners receiving a blessing on a Sunday morning, their pet animals did instead!
The Animal Trust is a registered charity that has been helping horses, dogs, and cats for over half a century through advancing veterinary science and by treating sickness and injury.
The Trust receives no Government funding and is supported by its clinical income, research grants and charitable gifts.
Said Trust spokesperson Clare Phillips: "We are very grateful to Reverend Ferriday and his congregation for raising money in this way. It was extremely kind of the school to play such an active part in this event too."
Reverend David Chester, a curate at St Hildeburgh's, assisted with the blessing at St Bridget's, and is pictured with (left):- Karen Wilson, of Pensby, with pet dogs Holly and Wilf, and (right) Liz Jones, of Irby, with pet dogs Floss and Candy.
