DOES summer conjure up thoughts of air conditioning or far away tropical islands? If so, then Mitsubishi Motors extended Colt and Carisma ranges with their two additional Summer Maui special edition models will be just the ticket.

Two limited edition models, named after the tropical island of Maui available with red or blue paintwork, both come with a wide range of accessories including air conditioning. The three-door Colt Maui has drivers-side SRS airbag, CD player, immobiliser, power assisted steering, colour co-ordinated Maui interior mats, colour keyed bumpers, bodywork stripes, Maui badging and distinctive wheel trims. The larger five-door Carisma Maui has an identical specification with the addition of electrically operated front windows and a rear spoiler.

The Colt Maui comes with a 1.3-litre, 74 bhp petrol engine and five-speed manual transmission and will cost just £9,995 on-the-road. Its Carisma counterpart has a 1.6-litre, 100 bhp engine, and will retail on-the-road at just £12,995. As with all Mitsubishi passenger cars, both Maui models come with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, three-year Inter Euro Recovery Service and a six-year anti-corrosion perforation warranty.
