IT'S been a busy weekend for Wirral's lady bowlers!
The start of Saturday's County Doubles was rain delayed, Maureen Bresnen and Pat Crowther eventually winning the competition by beating Kath Porter and Sandy Fleet 21-14.
Meanwhile, in Holywell, Wirral had two representatives taking part in the first Ladies' International. England won by five.
Pensby's Maureen Bresnen, there as winner of last season's County Aggregate, had a convincing 21-14 win over Audrey Elms. Mavis Dearden was Wirral's other representative.
Heswall Royal British Legion Ladies staged their annual Poppy Day Appeal pairs match, sponsored again by Cheshire Building Society and Ashbourne Homes.
The final saw Jean Openshaw and Kath Davies beat Ellen Leverton and Sandra Astles 21-19.
ESWA still lead the Birkenhead Ladies' Bowling League Division One, with both Melrose 'A' and Heswall Royal British Legion 'A' close behind.
Thingwall 'A' lead Division Two by six points, with Sutton and West Kirby 'B' vying for second place.
Greasby 'B' also enjoy a six point lead in Division Three.
After their recent super 81 shot win over Lancashire, Wirral County Ladies face North Lancs and Fylde this Sunday (July 5).
The home team are in action at Lairds Bowling Club, Rock Ferry, while the away side travel to Woodplumpton, near Preston.
Home side: Ms Bresnen, Gardner, Astles, Pepper, Mountford, Dearden, Gorman, Clarke, Knight, Crowther, Cooper, Whitlow.
Away side: Ms Browning, S. Davies, Smith, Maddaford, Lomax, McBurney, Macdonald, Porter, Meskell, Openshaw, Bunting, K. Davies.
