From Mrs S. Parnell:-
CAN I remind all travellers who enjoy duty free goods that this benefit will cease after June, 1999?
If you feel strongly enough about losing duty free shopping, act now by writing to your local MP. You can also find out more by calling the duty free hotline on 0800 174109 or by writing to: The Duty Free Confederation, 31 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 32X.
The loss of duty free purchases could mean up to 140,000 jobs across the EU going and possible closures of some routes and increases in ferry fares.
With enough support, our MPs may be able to persuade the Government to think again.
