From I.J:-

WELL, it's finally happened, the postcodes are about to change amongst such excitement of the locals. The Merseyside/Cheshire argument raises its head again. It's no surprise to me that Wirral wants out of Merseyside and wishes to be relocated in Cheshire. If we are in Cheshire then:-

1: Let's give back all our FREE bus passes, which we get free within Merseyside.

2: Let's increase the rates of Wirral residents by 40-50%, after all the Wirral Council should pay back all the grants they got (and wasted) from the EC for Wirral.

3: All Wirral residents who work in Liverpool, should re-apply for their jobs and Liverpool should give priority to Merseyside people.

I wish people in Wirral would remember that Toxteth is to Wirral, what Birkenhead and Wallasey is to Cheshire. If I lived in Congleton or Nantwich in a lovely house, I wouldn't be too pleased to be associated with Birkenhead and Wallasey.

Let's not forget those naive people who think that their insurances will go down. Very sad, but they won't. Technology is predictable and computers will recognise Wallasey and Birkenhead even with the CH on the postcode. It's still the same people and same crime figures.

I really do hope that everyone will be happy and that the L/CH debate will be buried after April. There are some people who will miss out and unfortunately most of them will be the vulnerable ones in our society, the elderly etc. It seems the only people who will benefit from this is the "All fur coat and no knickers brigade", who, when it boils down to it have nothing to really boast about anyway. What sad lives they lead.

I always remember a sign near Hooton that read "Wirral a pleasant place to grow" what a joke!
