OWNER Peter Johnson could be about to announce the new owner of Tranmere Rovers.
Informed sources indicated this week that the long-running saga could be concluded within the next seven days - but there is no indication of who the new owner, or owners, could be.
Trevor Francis' promotion-hunting Birmingham City are the visitors to Prenton Park next Tuesday in a re-arranged Nationwide League Division One game (kick-off 7.45pm) - a perfect stage, perhaps, for an announcement?
Tranmere are now six games unbeaten following Saturday's 4-0 win - their best of the season so far - over Bury in front of 6,002 supporters at Prenton Park. Graham Allen scored first, before second-half goals by Liam O'Brien, Scott Taylor and substitute Jason Koumas.
