'SAVE the Orange' campaigner Haysha Royko has received a letter from the Ombudsman. She now wants people who joined the protest outside the pub to contact her for an update on 632-6180. The local landmark faces demolition after Wirral Council granted permission for the building of 50 retirement apartments on the site.
Ms Royka, says the plan has caused upset locally. She hopes that the Orange Grove building may still be saved at the 11th hour.
COUNCILLORS meet on Tuesday for feedback on a West Kirby Concourse-based pilot scheme to keep local youngsters entertained.
A crime audit identified West Kirby Concourse area as a hot spot for youngsters hanging around and causing annoyance.
Next week's leisure and tourism department will get feedback from agencies involved and from young people taking part.
The Cyber Cafe will continue. Girls made use of the computers in the Internet room but the project favoured youths.
There was some problem with young people attending while under the influence of alcohol. They were sent home.
While the project had positive aspects, it did not reduce the overall incidences of youths causing annoyance.
In thanking everyone for their support, councillors are expected to revise the scheme to involve the youngsters more, especially girls and the disabled.
