BIRKENHEAD & District branch of the International Plastic Modelling Society (IPMS) are holding a series of display exhibitions, inviting wannabe modellers to have a go.
They are at Earlston Library, Liscard, until the end of March, followed by a month at Birkenhead Library.
The society, which is on the lookout for new members, meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Twenty Row Public House, in Leasowe Road, Wallasey. Next meeting is March 17.
A TRIATHLON will be held on Sunday, April 25, from Seacombe Ferry to New Brighton, to raise funds to send under-privileged children to Ullswater outdoor pursuit centre in the Lake District.
Organised by New Brighton resident Eric Davison, as many people as possible are welcome to enter the triathlon. This will involve running the 4.5 miles from Seacombe Ferry to New Brighton. Then you swim a length in the choppy Marine Lake before cycling back to Seacombe. Contact Eric on 639-1915 for an application form.
HEARTS Health Club, Wallasey Road, Liscard, are holding an 'aerobathon' in aid of cancer research.
The event will take place on March 6 from 12noon until 2pm. For more information ring 639-7781.
PUPILS at Highfield School, Oxton, have raised over £1,000 over the last five years for the Children's Society by holding Christingle services.
