CIVIC leader Reg Santo is understood to be recovering from a stroke. The Mayor of Ellesmere Port and Neston is expected to step down from the council after the May elections. The new Mayor for Ellesmere Port and Neston will be Steve Earley, providing he is re-elected in May.
OLD iron water pipe mains in the Burton Road, Parkgate Road and Parade areas of Parkgate and Neston are being replaced at the cost of £2.4m. Work is scheduled to be completed in April next year.
A NEW accommodation block is planned at Barnston Dale Centre, subject to planning permission by Wirral Council as the application is in a Green Belt area.

AN Easter Concert will be staged at Neston Parish Church on Monday, March 29,
at 7.30pm.
The Neston Ecumenical Singers will perform John Stainer's The Crucifixion under the direction of David Eddowes. This is a work which fully involves the congregation and is a fitting start to 'Holy Week', say organisers.
