POLICE in Wirral are 'brothel busting' as part of the on-going Townsafe campaign to cut crime.
Besides high-profile anti violence, drugs and theft measures, police respond to complaints from residents regarded suspected illegal or immoral premises.
A Globe reporting team went out with the police on separate raids, one during the day and the other at night. Police made arrests after they raided brothels, smashing open locked front doors.
Under the Operation Townsafe initiative, and armed with a search warrant executed under the Sexual Offences Act, premises were searched by officers. The brothels are had a 'seedy' atmosphere, with a massage-style bed. Police recovered pornographic magazines, videos, clothing, contraceptives and towels from premises raided.
