A WEST Kirby man provided a fake account to try to get money from the Criminal Injuries Board, magistrates heard. Craig Martin Edge, aged 32, of Banks Road, admitted attempting to obtain compensation by deception. He was sent to Crown Court for sentence and was bailed.
Prosecutor Neil Tyrell said it was an unusual case and must have involved a degree of planning. He claimed that had Edge provided a true account he was not likely to have received compensation as he would be deemed to have contributed to his own problems. The Board investigated because of discrepancies in details given by Edge and the hospital who saw him as to how he sustained injuries.
