WIRRAL gold medal cyclist Chris Boardman has offered to be patron for the first Bikeathon, a bike ride - not a race - for Leukaemia Research.
Fund raiser and LRF committee member Malcolm Creek, of Meols, says it is a chance for riders of all ages to raise money for the charity. The Bikeathon takes place on Sunday, June 13, over 26 miles from Arrowe Park through Irby and Heswall to Burton and back via Willaston, Raby and Thingwall. There's also a half bikeathon for younger members of the family.
Sponsorship is being sought and volunteers are needed to help organise the event and put up posters- ring 632-5520.
