SAVE the Orange campaigners hope something can be salvaged from its demolition - new laws to safeguard such buildings.
Local resident Haysha Royko says publicity in the Globe brought lots of support but too late to save the Orange Grove, circa 1865.
Now they plan to lobby Hoylake and West Wirral MP Stehen Hesford, chairman of Hoylake Steering Committee, at a public meeting at Kings Gap on Friday, March 19.
Another proposal is to make Hoylake a Conservation Area, as suggested by Meols Drive Residents' Association.
Ms Royko tried an injunction to stop demolition with free legal advice from the Environmental Law Foundation.
"If successful, it would have had a serious cost implication for the developer. This proves the present system isn't fair to community or developers," she said.
