PRINCE Charles hit headlines worldwide with his remarks in Buenos Aires about THOSE islands, even if he didn't name them.
Wirral South MP Ben Chapman had already made his views known to islanders when he was in the Falklands just before the Royal visit. Mr Chapman told them he understood their reluctance to have close links with Argentina.
This week's visit by the Prince to the Falklands shared equal page one billing with Mr Chapman's visit in the Penguin News, the Falklands' version of the Wirral Globe.
In a souvenir edition brought back to the editor, the Penguin News heralds MPs arrive today and Crowds for Charles. The paper reports that three MPs, including Mr Chapman, were arriving on the island to be followed by Prince Charles on March 15.
No doubt the lead in the latest Penguin News tells of the Royal remark controversy. But in our edition the main story is 'Four men lost from Korean jiggers', highlighting the danger of fishing off the Falklands, as touched upon in Mr Chapman's report in last week's Globe.
During his official visit to Argentina, the Prince of Wales flew by helicopter to a major private port 150 miles from Buenos Aires which is being upgraded and operated by a British joint venture including Mersey Docks and Harbour Company.
