From D.H.:-
THE Post Office is quite entitled to revise postcodes if it thinks this will be helpful in the sorting of mail. However, it is not entitled to impose fictitious place names as and when it chooses.
I refer, of course, to the term Merseyside to replace locations which are historically parts of Cheshire and Lancashire.
It is quite appropriate that the Post Office should select April 1 to change to CH postcodes.
