From Stan Roberts:-
DO Wirral residents realise that when our postcodes change from "L" to "CH" that all our mail will be postmarked in Welsh as well as English?
This is because Chester will handle the mail from Wirral and North Wales and, in a reply to me, Royal Mail state that it will not be possible to process mail with two different postmarks.
Strong Welsh representations have been made about this, but I do not believe that English residents and businesses are aware that this is about to happen.
If you have any opinions on this, write to: Royal Mail, Customer Service Centre, Copperas Hill, Liverpool L3 1AA. Or write to your MP or councillor.
It may yet be possible to persuade Royal Mail to think again, as I understand that the Welsh are not too happy about having English on their postmarks!
