STAFF at the Birkenhead branch of Bradford & Bingley, the UK's second largest building society, are campaigning against a move to convert into a bank.
They are sporting T-shirts and badges bearing the Better off as a Building Society campaign slogan at the branch in Grange Road. Staff are urging members to use their vote on resolutions at the annual meeting on April 26 to ensure the Society remains a mutual business. Voting packs are being issued this week to members.
A vote in favour of conversion would net each member a windfall of up to £1,000.
