THE WRVS (Women's Royal Voluntary Service) in the Wirral is looking for men and women to swell their ranks in Wallasey, Bebington, Birkenhead & Heswall.
Every day teams of dynamic dinner ladies and gents enable local people to remain independent and stay in their own homes by ensuring that they receive a warm, nutritious meal.
WRVS volunteers go out in pairs, taking about one-and-a-half hours to deliver 20-30 meals, one driving and the other delivering the meals.
Heather Carroll, WRVS Meals on Wheels organiser said: "We are looking for people of any age who would like to help others in their local community. It only takes a few hours once a week or a month and, as any of our volunteers will tell you, it really makes you feel like you have done your good turn for the day."
All volunteers are given full training and travel expenses are paid to ensure that no-one is out of pocket. A WRVS vehicle is provided, but if you need to use your own vehicle then you will be fully reimbursed. For further details on how you can help, call Heather on 638 5960.
