BIRKENHEAD MP Frank Field is taking up the case of Wirral shopkeepers anxious over Government proposals to finance a Food Standards Agency through a levy of £90 on almost every establishment selling food. This would mean a small newsagent paying as much as a supermarket.
WIRRAL West MP Stephen Hesford has moved Saturday's surgery on March 27 to 140 Ford Road, Upton, from Overchurch Resource Centre.
RETIRED headmaster Cyril John Fishwick, aged 70, faces 36 allegations of indecent assault at St Joseph's Primary School, Upton, between 1967 and 1977. Wirral magistrates received a sick note on behalf of Fishwick, of Moreton Road, Upton, and the case was adjourned until April 26.
STAFF at Arno House, residential home for old people, Grange Road West, are concerned that the place is closing at the end of the month and residents are being moved to other homes.
