GOVERNORS, staff, parents and pupils of Woodchurch High School, Birkenhead, are celebrating their 'outstanding' Ofsted inspection report.
Woodchurch is the first secondary school in Wirral to achieve such a high standard of report that puts it in the top ten per cent in the country.
The inspectors concluded that the school was 'excellent' and that there were 'no significant weaknesses'.
Ron Jordan, Chair of Governors, said: "The word 'excellent' runs throughout the 48 page Ofsted report - it is a remarkable achievement. What more can you want from a school?"
Headteacher Beryl Holt said: "I am absolutely delighted, especially with the recognition of the excellent relationships between all staff and pupils and between the school and its community. The report is a tribute to our wonderful pupils and their parents and the committed, hard-working team of teachers and support staff."
The Ofsted inspectors concluded: "The school is a well-ordered community in which pupils feel safe and secure. It promotes a culture of high expectations across all aspects of school life, resulting in a very positive ethos for learning."
