ON Saturday Birkenhead will be whisked back to the age of prohibition and Al Capone as Club 57 celebrates the New York club where Duke Ellington made his name.
Enjoy the music of the 1920s and 1930s at the club's Cotton Club Night with some fabulous music.
There is optional fancy dress - with a prize for the best man and woman - and live music from the swinging Bill Basey's Gramophone Five-plus-Two band.
Tickets at £7.50 are available in advance from the bar, open Tuesday to Thursday from noon to 2pm and Friday, noon to 1am. The club is also open Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8pm.
Doors open for the Cotton Club Night at 8pm, the band starts its performance at 10pm and there is a late bar to 1am. For additional info call 649-0617.
You'll find Club 57 at 2a Price Street.
