BIRKENHEAD Park's clash at table toppers Cleckheaton, in Powergen North Division One, was a casualty of the weather on Saturday with the pitch being frost-bound.
The match will now be played on February 15.
It was a disappointing start to the New Year for Birkenhead, who were keen to return to action after a two week Christmas break. Park will be hoping for a thaw before the weekend, when they are scheduled to take on another Yorkshire outfit, Driffield, at the Upper Park (kick-off 2.15pm).
Park won the first fixture 10-8 at Driffield in October, but the East Riding side have shown much improved form recently and they are now level on points with Birkenhead.
Second row forward Peter Holce has returned to Warrington, but Park coach Shaun Gallagher is likely to be in the starting line-up for the first time this season. Park have also lost the services of Steve O'Connor, who is being recalled by New Brighton to take over the stand-off position after some solid performances for Park.
