Lose Yourself is the title track from Eminem's new movie '8-Mile' to be released in the UK on December 17.
The single has gone straight to number one in the charts - a testament to the rappers enduring popularity.
Lose Yourself has a hard rock beat much more sinister than the star's previous bouncy singles such as Without Me, but importantly the track is not as morose as Cleaning Out My Closet.
The riffs are Zeppelinesque and the mood is dark and relentless, without being a strain to listen to. Surprisingly, the lyrics are not as raucous as those we have come to expect from Slim Shady.
This is probably the cleanest he has ever been on a track, and it is hard to work out if that is a good or bad thing. The second track on the single, Renegade, features Jay-Z and is taken from the soundtrack to the new film. The album for '8-Mile' will follow shortly, it will showcase all the acts on Slim Shady Records and is sure to sell out overnight.
