WIRRAL RSPCA has welcomed the announcement that unsupervised use of air weapons by under-17s will be banned.
Last year about 900 attacks were dealt with by the RSPCA in England and Wales but this is thought to be the tip of the iceberg.
The government legislation has been driven by figures that suggest the number of air gun attacks on animals rises dramatically during school holidays.
