I HAVE read about the proposed regeneration for Bidston and the North End.
Although nothing has been said, it seems to be taken for granted that the regeneration will start with the private house by Laird Street.
As a council tenant living in one of the most deprived wards in the country (Bidston), it comes as no surprise that we will be last once again, as Wirral Council's priority is anyone but its tenants.
I'm pretty sure that private houses are not subsiding to such an extent their kitchens and bathrooms are no longer level. Or their windows are so old and rotten that bits keep falling off. I bet all the home owners' homes need their fences mending and they haven't painted the outside for years.
Tenants on Bidston Rise always come last because we are not as important as home owners.
If this is the case, my fellow Bidston Risers demand the new windows, kitchens and repairs that we have been promised. We demand a decent standard of housing.
