WIRRAL still has three sides left in the Powergen Vase competition after weekend second round matches.
Anselmians maintained their winning record as they eased through 20-8 at Bolton, thanks to tries from Martin Pilgrim and Murray King, who added both conversions and also hit a brace of penalties.
But, sadly, centre Pilgrim sustained a fractured cheekbone and will now be sidelined for several months.
Oldershaw returned to winning form as they crushed St Edward's 49-7. Jonathon Roberts and Steve Wilson gained two tries apiece. Tom Cassidy, John Pritchard, Geoff Ord and John Jones were the others to go in. Jones converted once and Willy Gardner twice plus a drop goal.
Wallasey took the local derby 18-5 at the expense of Parkonians. They crossed three times via Ben Davies, Gareth Jones and Paul Lewis. Dave Hall managed a penalty. Parks had to settle for a Rob Jones touch down.
Port Sunlight went out 5-19 against Sefton. Carl Taylor gained a consolation try.
Hoylake reached the end of the road in the Powergen Intermediate Cup, but it was defeat with honour. They lost 5-19 at higher rated Penrith. A late score finally settled it in favour of the Cumbrians. Steve Butterworth gained a try for Hoylake, but crucial kicks on the day were not successful.
Prenton appeared in the Thwaites Cheshire Cup and progressed with a 29-17 success against Helsby.
South Lancashire/Cheshire One fixtures on Saturday include a Wirral v Hoylake derby, Oldershaw v Ellesmere Port, Wallasey v Ashton-on-Mersey, Anselmians at Manchester Wanderers, Prenton v Newton-le-Willows, Parkonians v Merseyside Police and Port Sunlight at Linley and Kidsgrove.
