BIRKENHEAD Trampolining Club has made a successful start to the season with most competitive members qualifying for the next Grade and/or gaining a medal position.
In only two competitions, club members have been awarded a total of 26 prizes.
At the National Trampolining Grade 3/4/5/6 competition at Altrincham Sports Centre, Manchester, competitors aimed to gain a high enough score to qualify to enter the next group up. Grade 1 competitors are the best in the UK.
Abbi Shawcross (Under-11 female, Grade 3), Jes Bowles (Under-13 female, Grade 3) and Tom Battersby (Under-15 male, Grade 3) all won their groups and qualified to compete in Grade 2.
Emma Haldon (Under-11 female, Grade 3), Alex Sinott (Under-11 male, Grade 3), Laura Clark (Under-15 female, Grade 3) and Ryan Boddison (Over-18 male, Grade 3) all came second in their groups and qualified for Grade 2.
Matthew Bates (Under-15 male, Grade 4) won his group and Laura Davies (Under-15 female, Grade 4) came fourth, both qualifying for Grade 3.
Mark Newman (Over-18 male, Grade 4) won his group and Dawn Stirling (Over-18 female, Grade 4), Jasmin Carew (Under-9 female, Grade 5) and Danielle Laufer (Under-13 female, Grade 5) all gained second place.
Jon Bond (Under-18 male, Grade 4), Liz Noon (Under-18 female, Grade 4) and Fiona Sinott (Under-9 female, Grade 5) all took home bronze medals.
And at the National Trampolining Grade 2 competition held in Belfast, Birkenhead Trampolining Club again came home with a string of medals.
Becci Jones won the Under-18 female group trophy, qualifying to compete in the Grade 2 National Finals, and led the team of Charlotte Mason and Rachel to first position.
In the Under-15 female group, the Birkenhead team of Sarah Littler, Emma Wharton, Laura Clark, Tammy Kahn and Katie Birmingham won the team first. Sarah came second and, together with Emma, also qualified to compete in the Grade 2 National Finals.
Abi Williams (Over-18 female) validated to compete at Grade 1.
