GLOBE readers are invited to take part in a fundraising 'Santa Dash' through Liverpool's city centre for Diabetes UK.
Proceeds from the Sunday, December 6, event will be used to fund research for a cure of condition.
The 5km route is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. All entrants will receive their own Santra suit to wear and keep on the day.
Stephanie Lawless, fundraising manager for Diabetes UK North West, said: "This year's Santa Dash is set to be bigger and better than ever and is a great way for people of all ages to have fun whilst raising vital funds for Diabetes UK so we can continue supporting people with diabetes across the North West and in our work towards finding a cure.
"Diabetes is increasing at an alarming rate with over 300,000 people diagnosed in the North West and a further 65,000 who have Type 2 diabetes but don't know it.
"If left untreated or not managed properly diabetes can lead to devastating complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, amputation and blindness.
"Shockingly, diabetes causes more deaths than breast and prostate cancer combined so please help us to continue our work by taking part in the Dash."
