A MAN stormed off a video link and told a judge “I don’t give a f**k” while he appeared in court for sentencing after a teenager was stabbed in Liscard.
Shaun Wilkinson, 31, of no fixed address, appeared in Liverpool Crown Court yesterday morning (Thursday, November 21) after he previously pleaded guilty to charges of wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
In August this year, Merseyside Police issued an appeal to help find a man they wanted to trace following the stabbing of a 15-year-old boy on Park Street in Liscard.
The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday, August 10.
The boy was taken to hospital for treatment at the time and was later discharged.
Wilkinson appeared in court via video link from HMP Liverpool however the hearing was adjourned until next Tuesday (November 26) due to the court running out of time.
When hearing his sentencing had been postponed Wilkinson stormed off camera.
Judge Denis Watson KC was then told by Wilkinson’s counsel Nicola Daley that her client had "indicated that he may be reluctant to return on another day", having been told prior to the sentencing that his case may be adjourned.
A prison guard then entered the video to inform the judge that Wilkinson had left the room to which Judge Watson told her he would “advise” that he returned.
Upon returning, Wilkinson told the court: “I’m not coming back. I’m not a**ed. I don’t give a f***. You’re going to have to sentence me in my absence. Give me 10, 20 years. I’m not bothered.”
Judge Watson proceeded to mute Wilkinson and inform him that he would make it his “priority” to sentence him on Tuesday, November 26.
