A WIRRAL Scout group is taking over a Christmas Santa float.
7th Bebington (Holy Trinity) Scout Group will take over the Santa sleigh float, previously operated by the Wirral Lions Club throughout Bromborough, Bebington, and Eastham for more than 50 years.
For the three weeks leading up to Christmas, Santa will be visiting Bebington, Eastham and Bromborough, continuing the legacy of the Christmas tradition founded by Wirral Lions Club.
A spokesperson for Bebington Scouts told the Globe: “We've been working hard over the summer to fully refurbish the sleigh so that it looks better than ever, and we can't wait to unveil its new look at our official launch event for the Scouts' Santa Sleigh which is happening this Saturday.
“This will also give us the opportunity to publicly thank the Wirral Lions Club for their generosity in passing the reins to us, and their support in this our debut year.
Scouts' Santa Sleigh is raising funds for Bebington District Scout groups and local charities.
They added: “We asked Wirral Lions Club to nominate this year's chosen charity and they have decided on Wirral Hospice St Johns, due to their close links with them and the support they have provided them in the past.”
