A WIRRAL shop which sells “geeky” toys, memorabilia, and retro video games will be hosting a new pop-up store based in Pyramids Shopping Centre in Birkenhead.
Geeky Nerd Toys and Starbase 55 Toys and Collectables opened its first shop in March at Champions Business Park on Arrowe Brooke Road in Birkenhead.
The store is described as a “haven for geeks, gamers and film lovers”.

The idea for the store came from Nick Roach, owner of Geeky Nerd Toys, and James Lowe, owner of Starbase 55 Toys and Collectibles based in Ellesmere Port market. The pair decided to join their businesses together and sell from one store.
The shop sells a unique combination of modern collectible toys from Neca, Mezco Toyz, Funko Pop! Vinyl, Loungefly bags, Pokémon and Yu-gi-oh cards and toys, Star Wars, Marvel and DC comic book figures, retro video games and consoles, anime figures and figurines, comic books, vintage toys with items from Star Wars, GI Joe, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park.
The new pop up, which will be called ‘That Geeky Place’, will open on Saturday, November 16 and will be based at Unit SU3 in the Pyramids Shopping Centre.
As well as Geeky Nerd Toys and Starbase 55 Toys and Collectables, a third business will join the shop.
James, owner of Starbase 55 Toys and Collectibles, told the Globe: “With the success of our current combined store on champions business park we are proud to announce our new pop-up store Based in the Pyramids Shopping centre Birkenhead which will be called 'That Geeky Place.
“That Geeky Place will see Geeky Nerd Toys, Starbase 55 Toys and Collectables come together with our close friends IWG Clothing to bring our customers a large and varied range of clothing and collectables.
“IWG Clothing has a large range of officially licensed t-shirts, hoodies and Christmas jumpers covering TV, movie and pop Culture.
“Alongside the range of collectables which include Neca toys and action figures, Trick or Treat studios, Mezco figures including One:12 Collective, Star Wars Black Series, Anime statues, Pokémon plushies, Gundam model kits and many more.
“We aim to bring together all our experience from these 3 businesses' and make what will be 'That Geeky Place'.”
The grand opening will open from 10am and there will be appearances throughout the day by Transformers Bumblebee.
There will be 10% off purchases Saturday only and there will be goody bags for the first 20 customers to spend £20 or more instore.
Two of those goody bags will also include a free £25 gift voucher to be used instore.
All customers making a purchase on the day will also be entered into a raffle to win a free signed Stranger Things Vecna Funko Pop! Vinyl.
