WIRRAL is full of hair and beauty salons transforming, treating and pampering their customers so they shine from head to toe with a new-found confidence.
Black Heart Hair and Beauty Salon is no exception – in fact the business is also a training academy open seven days a week.
Our Meet The Salon Owner feature gives business owners and managers the chance to shine a spotlight on their salon and showcase some of their best work.
Here Carol Fenlon, who owns Black Heart Hair and Beauty Salon / Training Academy, tells us about her business.

Why did you decide to open your own business?
After lockdown, a lot of people wanted a change. During the pandemic, we realised how important it was to have work life and family life balance. Self-employment was the obvious option for us.

What’s your business background?
I owned my own salon for five years before lockdown. The next natural step was to teach.
Why this type of business?
I have been in the beauty industry for more than 20 years and it’s such a nice industry to work in!
Were you open before/during/after the Covid-19 pandemic? How did this affect your business?
We opened after the pandemic.
What makes your business different to others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?
We are open seven days a week and offer a variety of treatments under one roof. Each person is self-employed so it’s several businesses working together as one team.
Why do loyal customers return to your business?
We are experienced and professional and many of us have had loyal clients for more than 10 years. We continuously add new treatments and believe that ongoing training is essential.
What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your business?
We do have some exciting plans for the near future. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for new treatment announcements. You can also find us on Fresha to view a list of our services.
