A MUSIC school based in Ellesmere Port has raised hundreds after a month-long singing challenge in aid of Stroke Association.
Singing students at Encore Music and Wellness Centre in Hooton took on the Sing4Stroke challenge, with a performance every day throughout the month of October.
The £400 raised so far will go towards specialist support and life-saving research.
100,000 people suffer strokes in the UK each year, with 1.3 million registered stroke survivors across the country – and more than 56,000 in Cheshire and Merseyside.
Students from Encore performed a range of songs from contemporary covers, to musical theatre classics, each of which were posted on the centre’s Facebook page.
Encore Music and Wellness Centre offers a range of singing and instrument lessons including guitar, bass, piano and drums, and wellbeing sessions including meditation, yoga and dance.
A spokesperson for the Stroke Association said:
“We really appreciate Encore Music and Wellness and their dedicated students for their involvement with the sing4stroke challenge fundraiser. The funds raised will to go towards specialist support, critical lifesaving research and further our campaign for the very best possible care for everyone affected by stroke. You are all making a real difference and we loved all of your videos.”
You can view the impressive performances via Encore's Facebook page.
