MORE than 20 Wirral properties are set to go under the hammer in what promises to be an 'exciting' online auction next month.

Smith and Sons' online auction will take place on December 4 with viewings underway.

It features 'a number of terraced and semi-detached properties' throughout Wirral, several of which require modernisation and improvement with guides starting as low as £10,000.

Semi-detached houses on Castle Road in Wallasey and Kinnaird Road Wallasey both offer, according to Smith & Sons auction website, 'great potential to refurbish as a lovely family home' and sandstone cottages in Lake Place in Hoylake and Irby Road Heswall are described as 'ideal projects for upgrading either for owner occupation or investment'.

Three 'substantial' apartments on leafy St Aidans Terrace in Oxton having been refurbished to a high standard and which are currently let are guided at £400,000 - £450,000 for the three.

There are several commercial lots in the auction, including a former children’s nursery on Eastham Rake that has permission to convert back to a single residential dwelling and is set in large grounds with some development potential and include a large chalet suitable as a home office/summer room and guided at £360,000 - £400,000.

A total 30 lots from across Merseyside feature in the auction on December 4. Described as 'of significant interest' is Lot 10 the Grade-II listed, double fronted, eight bedroomed property, a former hunting lodge owned by Lord Derby and reputed to be the oldest property in Bootle dating back to the 18th Century, guided at £340,000 - £360,000.
