DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of 51 people who may have information following incidents of disorder in Merseyside over the summer.

An investigation is ongoing into the shocking incidents that occurred in Southport on Tuesday, July 30 and Liverpool City Centre and Walton on Saturday, August 3.

Detectives have now arrested 144 people in connection with disorder, with 97 charged and 79 sentenced to a combined 164 years and five months in prison.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said: "We continue to explore every possible avenue to find as many people as we can who took part in the despicable scenes of violence.

"We continue to make arrests and many of these people are now in prison.

"We make no apologies for this, and we know the vast majority of people in our communities support the robust action that is being taken against these criminals, locally and nationally. We will not rest until we’ve put everyone we possibly can before the courts.
