A BANKING hub in Moreton has closed “until further notice”.
The hub, which opened on September 20 and is located on Hoylake Road in Moreton, announced that it had been advised by Cash Access UK, a UK cash access and ATM provider, to close.
In a statement Moreton Banking Hub said: “On the instruction of Cash Access UK we will be closed until further notice.
“We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
“Everyday banking for cash access is still available in the Post Office on Chadwick street.”
The banking hub consists of a counter service where customers of any bank can withdraw and deposit cash as well as make bill payments and carry out regular banking transactions.
There are also private spaces where customers can speak to community bankers from their own bank for more complicated matters that require specialist knowledge or privacy.
The banks, open Monday to Friday, work on a rotating basis, with staff from different banks available on different days including Natwest, Santander, Lloyds, Barclays and Halifax.
A spokesperson from Cash Access UK told the Globe: “The Moreton Banking Hub is currently temporarily closed for improvements works and we hope to re-open again soon.
“We’re really sorry for any inconvenienced caused.
“Work is continuing to progress well on the permanent Banking Hub which will be located at 247, Hoylake Road and we’re looking forward to being able to serve the community from our new permanent home before Christmas.”
