A man was arrested after a car crashed into shops on a Wirral street.
Police were called to Brighton Street in Wallasey at 6.40pm on Monday (November 4) to reports that an MG car had hit the front of shops.
The 28-year-old male was detained at the scene on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs and theft of a motor vehicle.
Following his detention he was further arrested on suspicion of assault on an emergency worker.
He was taken to hospital to be checked over.
Merseyside Police said there were no reports of any other injuries and enquiries remain ongoing.
