TWO men were arrested on suspicion of various offences after a car was stopped by police on patrol in Birkenhead.
At around 8pm on Thursday (October 31) officers stopped an Audi A6 on Palm Grove in Birkenhead.
Following a search of the car a large number of banknotes were recovered, together with numerous identification documents and bank cards registered to different people.
Merseyside Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of acquiring / using / possessing criminal property, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
The other man, aged 27 and also from Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
Both are currently in custody.
