STAFF from a Wirral care home took part in a walk to raise funds for Hoylake Lifeboat Station.
Volunteers from the station have visited Caldy Manor a few times over the years to deliver talks and raise awareness of the work they do.
This is one of the reasons why staff chose the support the lifesaving charity by doing a 10-mile walk from Thurstaston to New Brighton. Family members came along on the walk for support.
On the way they called into Hoylake life boat station and they were given a tour of inside and to see the boat itself.
The next stop was in Moreton at the Green Hut chippy for some chips and a well-deserved drink.
The staff at Caldy Manor raised a grand total of £140 by completing the challenge, which will be donated to RNLI Hoylake life boat station.
Stephanie Wynne, activities co-ordinator at Caldy Manor Care Home, said: "Taking part in this challenge has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind us all the way.
"It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”
Caldy Manor, run by Barchester Healthcare, provides residential care for 30 residents from respite care to long term stays.
