A MAN has been taken to hospital in a “serious condition” after being hit by a car in Eastham.
Just before 7.35pm on Sunday October 27, police received a report of a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra car and a pedestrian on Bridle Road, near to the junction of New Chester Road in Eastham.
The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was taken to hospital with a head injury where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting with the police investigation.
Police are now appealing for information following the serious collision.
Sergeant Mark Milner from Merseyside Police Roads Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the injured man and those involved in this road traffic collision.
“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this collision and would appeal to people who was in the area on Sunday evening who may have witnessed this collision, or has dash camera, CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident to please contact us.
“It may be that your evidence however small, may help us to piece together how this happened.”
