POLICE have given an update after a person was hit by a train on Saturday (October 26).
All Wirral train services were stopped from around 11am on Saturday after it was reported that a person had been struck by a train.
Merseytravel and Merseyrail announced on social media platform, X, that due to an emergency switch-off at Lime Street services on the Wirral line were at a stand.
Network Rail confirmed that emergency services were responding to an incident on the Wirral line at Lime Street.

Rail replacement buses were in operation after Wirral lines were disrupted including West Kirby and New Brighton services which will start and terminate at Birkenhead North.
Chester and Ellesmere Port trains also faced disruption.
British Transport Police have today confirmed (Monday, October 28) that a person was airlifted to hospital where they remain in a “stable condition with non-life threatening injuries”.
A spokesperson said: “We were called to Liverpool Lime Street station lower level shortly after 11am on Saturday 26 October following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics and a person was airlifted to hospital where they remain in a stable condition with non life threatening injuries.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
