THERE were 254 babies born in Wirral in September 2024 – did you welcome a new arrival?
Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.
There are stats for the number of babies born at Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital and how many are born at home or at Seacombe Birth Centre as well as the how many new arrivals were breast fed.
They also record the busiest day each month for births and whether babies are born on their due date, a little early or a little late.
There were 254 babies born in Wirral last month – 131 boys and 123 girls with one set of twins.
Some 120 were vaginal births with 103 caesarean sections and 30 babies were born via ventouse or forceps delivery with 109 inductions.
There were three home or community birth and seven water births and 156 babies were breast fed.
Some 12 babies arrived on their due date with 176 arriving early and 66 coming late.
September 18, 20 and 23 were the busiest days of the month with 14 babies being welcomed into the world on each day.
Every month we appeal for your pictures of your new babies.
These babies feature in an online article every month and will also appear in a special supplement at the start of next year.
