A DELIVERY driver crashed into a car and was reportedly left unconscious after he was attacked by a gang while cycling along a Wirral road.

Merseyside Police confirmed it received a report on Wednesday (October 23) at 12.40pm, that the Deliveroo employee was travelling along St Paul’s Road in Rock Ferry when a moped with three males onboard came alongside him.

One of the males on the bike kicked out at him, making him veer into a parked car and come off his bike. The scooter then left the area.

The male on the bike suffered grazes to his elbows and knees.

An eyewitness commented on Crimewatch Wirral's Facebook page: "To the three young lads in balaclavas on a moped who kicked a Deliveroo rider off his bike today on St Paul's Road, Rock Ferry, leaving him unconscious with blood pouring from his mouth and a possible broken arm. You're a disgrace, an utter stain on humanity.

"That poor guy, just trying to earn a living. Never felt so ashamed to be from this area.

"Luckily he was sat up talking when the police arrived. if you know them, it's not about being a grass, they could've have killed him, and for what? For doing his job."
