AN event aimed at people who may be 'feeling the pressure' of having to buy smarthphones for their children before starting secondary school will be held in Wirral later this week.
Taking place on Thursday (October 24) at the Nest Café on Station Road in Thurstaston (8pm start), it will feature a presentation and 'open-minded discussion' on the issue.
It is being hosted by the local group of Smartphone Free Childhood, as part of a national initiative.
A flyer promoting the event read: "Are you feeling the pressure to buy your child a smartphone before they start secondary school?
"Worried about your child feeling excluded if they don't have a smartphone?
"Do you have concerns about your child's smartphone usage?
"If you are a parent / carer anywhere on this journey and feel confused or overwhelmed, or would like to understand more about the Smarthphone Free Child movement, join us for a presentation and an open-minded discussion.
"Your voice matters. Everyone welcome".
