RESIDENTS patchwork creations were unveiled by the Mayor at a Wirral library.
On Saturday (October 12) Mayor Cherry Povall attended Wallasey Central Library to unveil Wirral Libraries Story Patchwork project.
The Story Patchwork is a project celebrating Wirral Borough of Culture where people were asked to create a 20cm fabric square depicting ‘Your Wirral’.
From March until July, residents took inspiration from their favourite books, places, people, memories, poems, cars, flowers, birds, sea, pets, journeys, and music and made creations in the form of stitches, embroidery, crochet, drawings, painting, writings and printing.
A Wirral Libraries spokesperson said: “We had a great turnout and we thank Mayor Cherry Povall for getting the show on the road.
“We are so grateful to everyone that contributed to this project putting libraries at the heart of our community where they belong.
“Thank you too to Wirral Borough of Culture funding, to Friends Of Wallasey Central Library, Nicola Daniels of Quilt Stitch Social for all your hard work to make such a beautiful final piece to celebrate your Wirral and to our wonderful staff for helping days like this go so smoothly and for such great cakes!”
