FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze at a warehouse in Birkenhead.
The fire broke out on Lorn Street, Birkenhead at about 2.38am.
Eight fire engines and an aerial appliance have been at the scene.
Crews arrived found a “warehouse 10 x 30 metres in size well alight with fire coming through the roof”.
In a statement, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews began fighting the fire with high pressure hose reels and the incident has been divided into sectors for firefighting.
“The incident is ongoing.
“Residents and businesses nearby should keep doors and windows closed.
“Those with existing health conditions should keep medicines nearby and if any ill effects are experienced dial NHS 111.”
