A MAN has been charged with drug offences after a taxi was stopped in Tranmere.

Yesterday (Tuesday, October 8) police were on New Chester Road in Tranmere when they spotted a man acting suspiciously as he got into a taxi.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Church Terrace, and found 70 wraps of suspected Class A drugs during a search.

A man was arrested by police.

Officers have today (Wednesday, October 9) charged Alan Croft, 50, of Church Terrace, Tranmere with possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply. 
 
He appeared in court today has been remanded into custody.
