THE team at a Wirral pub has been recognised for 'turning a once rundown pub in to a bright vibrant food and sports venue'.
The Grange on Hoylake Road in Moreton has received a travellers choice award 2024 from Tripadvisor. The honour is awarded to the top 10% businesses worldwide.
Adam Penn, general manager, told the Globe: "The company I work for, UK Pub and kitchen, did a joint venture with Greene King on the refurbishment to turn it in to a fresh bright vibrant pub which you would like to come to with friends or family."
"We may not be the cheapest pub in the area but we make up with it with our service and treating all our guests like friends, nothing is too much trouble, and always trying to go above and beyond and create those wow moments."
Teamwork has also had a huge part to play in the pub's popularity and award recognition.
Mr Penn said: "My team are key to the success of the Grange and reward and recognition is key on my agenda, whether that is giving award for challenges I set them or giving the star of the week on my weekly news letter to them.
"We look after our own and like the team to feel we are their extended family where they can share their problems."
The pub was among the winners of TripAdvisor's awards, based on reviews and ratings collected over 12 months
A statement on the Trip Advisor site read: "The 2024 winners are a celebration of everything we did last year — all the places we discovered and all the times we just said 'yes' to new adventures."
