THREE people have been arrested following a protest at a factory in Bromborough this morning (Wednesday, October 2).

At around 6.05am, emergency services were called to Teledyne Technologies 'Teledyne CML Composites' factory on Tebay Road in Bromborough to reports of three people climbing onto the roof and causing damage.

Officers entered the building and detained two people who had gained access inside via the roof.

The third protestor was detained after coming off the roof with a ladder, assisted by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, while two were also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All three have been taken into custody to be interviewed.

Palestine Action has previously said on social media that it was targeting the defence firm Teledyne CML Composites, which it claimed was involved in making parts for Israeli fighter planes.

In a video shared by the group, red paint appeared to have been thrown around the site.

A police cordon was in place and Tebay Road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Chief Inspector Chris Barnes said: “Merseyside Police respects the right to protest and expression of views, but any action that involves private property being broken into and damaged will not be tolerated and will be dealt with robustly.

“Thankfully, with the assistance of emergency services colleagues, this incident came to a safe conclusion despite protestors putting themselves at serious risk of personal harm.”
